PERSONAL DRAWINGS AND SKETCHES

These are some of the drawings I have done in my spare time, You’ll see the before and after process of the drawings. I do this to see which drawings I prefer more and what difference adding shade and colour makes to these drawings.

In this set of photos, I decided to try and draw a lakehouse. It was my first time doing so, so I wanted to track my progress and see what it looked like in each photo. I did make a lot of mistakes along the way and did need to rub out a lot of errors but I feel like that’s what makes the journey better because I can see where I started from which was just an outline of a house to a detailed house with trees and plants.

ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

I took pictures of buildings and architecture in famous architectural cities like Paris, Athens and London. I wanted to learn about the different styles of architecture that reflect the vastly different cultures and lifestyles.

ATHENS, GREECE

PARIS, France

LONDON,ENGLAND

INTERIOR PHOTOGRAPHY

I decided to go around Manchester and visit some stores and hotels that had some aesthetic interior designs, I took pictures of objects which I thought I would like if i were to design something in the future.

INSPIRED PHOTOGRAPHY

I wanted to create some clean images of objects that had a dark background so that the images could speak for themselves. The inspiration came from a famous photographer Andre Kertesz, who endeavoured “To give meaning to everything” and that is what I tried to portray in the images I created.

ETHICAL ARCHITECTURE

In this project, I wanted to explore the relationship between architecture and nature. My inspiration for this project was a famous architect named Frank Lloyd Wright. I wanted to take photos of nature and buildings and combine them to try and create a harmonious relationship between the two, I used programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to do so. I visited the Sky Garden in London and took photos then took photos of Buildings in Manchester. I did this project because I felt that architecture was taking over and I wanted to balance it out in my designs.

ETHICAL ARCHITECTURE RESEARCH

I wanted to understand Frank Lloyd Wright more so in my spare time I looked at some of his designs that related to architecture and nature and his design Falling Water was the one that connected to me the most out of all his designs, so I wrote about how it made me feel and also researched some famous quotes by him.

ETHICAL ARCHITECTURE designs

With the designs at the top I decided to put the buidlings and nature photos together and see what I could come up with so that it looked like they belonged with each other. I also added some information about how architecture was impacting the world negatively because of how much there is of it and why we need to start balancing it out between them.

With the designs at the bottom I wanted to try and create a broken relationship between bulidngs and nature so I decided to add cracks in the middle that representd a broken heart. The inspiration for these designs were adbusters which is shown in the middle and wanted the text in the designs to be presented bold and have words included related to the topic.

MY MOODBOARD

This is a moodboard that I created recently and its for my house because my family is going to start decorating soon and I wanted to come up with some designs. I thought it would be a good idea because I didnt want to go for the modern white and grey themed house that is seen as the norm now in todays day and age , I wanted to be unique and add some colour so I decided to do some research and find which colours and furniture I liked best to make the space look and feel comfortable.

DESIGNING A MODERN LIVING ROOM

For my first design project, I set myself a challenge and designed a modern living room from one point perspective that included furniture and different materials like glass, wood and leather etc. The first step to this was writing all my ideas in my notebook so I would know what to include in my design. The next step was executing it, I will admit, it was a bit hard at first but I got used to it. I decided that I wanted to add colour to my design but not too much because I felt it was unnecessary.
